Student Centered Teaching
In the classroom, in the field, and on the internet, our instructional faculty and staff aim to teach all students regardless of background and life experiences. We are consistently adjusting our curriculum offerings, teaching styles, and learning platforms to accommodate changing student needs and changing environmental demands. Please join us in exploring new ways to include all students in teaching and learning at Georgia State University.
Part of our mission in the CASA is supporting faculty in the classroom, where they highlight career skills and professional opportunities through cutting-edge curriculum units. – Kyle Frantz, Co-Director of the CASA and Professor of Neuroscience

Striving Toward Instructional Excellence
- We want all our faculty and students feel welcomed, safe, respected, and valued.
- We promote intentional practices that support students who have outside employment, families, and other obligations while they’re in school.
- We define instructional excellence as the planning, teaching, and continual improvements that contribute to student success in the classroom and beyond.
- Join the conversation – Georgia State faculty and staff in the life sciences are offering workshops to enhance instructional excellence. We welcome participants from any departments.
