About the CASA
The CASA is a campus hub of faculty, staff, and students helping to make PhD programs, medical school, and law school accessible to any Georgia State students and alumni with interest and motivation to pursue these paths. Ultimately, the center aims to increase diversity among leaders in academic and professional careers, enabling Georgia State alumni to create a more just and equitable society.
What is the CASA Ambassador Program?
CASA Ambassadors are liaisons between the CASA and undergraduates across all campuses. CASA Ambassadors are interested in pursuing MD, JD, or Master’s and PhD programs themselves, but can come from any discipline. Duties include supporting CASA staff and faculty associates with administrative and event support, on-campus and digital marketing/social media postings, and peer-to-peer role modeling and mentoring.
Every term CASA selects 4-to-6 ambassadors from a variety of degree pathways to support CASA initiatives. Ambassadors have a unique insight into the programming CASA offers which can help GSU students achieve their post graduate goals.
How do you become a CASA Ambassador?
To become an Ambassador, students must express an interest in pursuing graduate studies. In addition, they must understand the CASA’s mission and be active in sharing that message campus-wide. Potential ambassadors should fill out an online application and attend an interview.
CASA Ambassadors are expected to support the CASA program for an average of 2-4 hours per week. There are also required monthly virtual meetings.
